Select Soccer Club was founded nearly 30 years ago by Laurindo “Mr. Lima” Lima, who envisioned a small, community-centered program where his daughters—and other local girls—could learn the game in a positive and supportive environment. What began as a grassroots club has since grown into one of the premier youth soccer organizations in New England for both girls and boys.
Today, Select is proudly led by Mr. Lima’s daughter, Liz Lima, who continues her father’s legacy of combining competitive excellence with a true sense of family and community. Under her leadership, the club has expanded to serve 2,000+ players across four regions and two states, offering both girls’ and boys’ programs that compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.
In 2024, Select was admitted into the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) on the girls’ side and later into the ECNL Regional League for both girls and boys—providing players with access to the nation’s top competition and development pathways.
Our mission remains the same as when Mr. Lima first began: to develop strong, confident athletes who love the game and carry its lessons far beyond the soccer field. Over the years, Select players have gone on to shine in town programs, high school teams, Olympic Development Programs (ODP), Regional and National Teams, and at the college and professional levels.
Alumni have played at top college programs across all divisions, and Select teams have proudly represented the club at National Championships and major tournaments nationwide.

Mission
Our goal is to develop strong, confident and well-rounded girls and boys through the game of soccer. We hope to make our kids the best players they can be, while maintaining their love and passion for the game of soccer. We strive to make each player a better individual off the field as well by teaching them about a sense of community and social responsibility. We want them to remember their time on the soccer field as a positive, competitive and heartfelt experience that prepared them for their future endeavors.
